Month 9 Design is the creative venue of Laura Butts, an Interior Designer and mom of two. During her second pregnancy, Laura was introduced to belly casting by a friend. After seeing the cast she hand-painted on display in her baby's nursery, friends and family urged Laura to consider painting casts for other expectant moms. When Laura's creative passion was mixed with a little encouragement, Month 9 Design was "born".
Laura often draws inspiration for her designs from textile and clothing patterns, children's books and nature. Her eye for color and composition stem from her background in interior design.
In 2011 Month 9 Design expanded its portfolio to include hand-painted personalized gifts for children: Step Stools, Lap Desks, Canvas Paintings & Holiday Ornaments. If it can be painted, Laura can turn just about anything into a uniquely personal gift!
