Laura spent 20 hours finishing & painting this 'Artful Belly' cast. The goal was to create a design that captured the preppy style of Cape Cod. A madras clad whale with a hand-stitched paint effect is definitively prep! The whale's button eye is actually sewn onto the belly cast to bring authenticity to the hand-sewn look. The font format of Owen's birth stats echos that of vintage signage of the Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket region. Owen's mom also had Laura paint a belly cast of her pregnancy with big sister Anya in 2010.
